We’re not just fixing e-waste, we’re helping fix the system

RefHub Limited is a Kenyan IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) and circular economy services company committed to helping organizations responsibly manage the full lifecycle of their ICT equipment. We enable businesses to recover value, extend usability, and reduce electronic waste, ensuring technology delivers maximum economic and environmental impact before its end of life

Why we exist

The problem

Manufacturing new products consumes significant amounts of raw materials and energy, from resource extraction and processing to fabrication and global transportation. Discarding electronics that still retain functional and economic value accelerates the growing problem of e-waste, also known as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). E-waste is now the fastest-growing waste stream globally, with over 53,000 tonnes generated each year, contributing to environmental degradation, pollution from hazardous substances, and increased health risks for communities.

The solution

At RefHub, we tackle the e-waste problem by preventing waste from being created in the first place. Instead of following the traditional “make, use, and dispose” model, we embrace a Circular Economy approach that keeps technology in use for as long as possible, maximizes its value during its lifespan, and ensures responsible recovery at the end of use. Through this approach, we aim to educate industry players on the economic and environmental benefits of effective resource management, while helping businesses uncover new growth opportunities from technology that is still valuable.
